This is my most recent finished project. It is for a contest on YouTube. The theme was “Fairytale” and I chose to do a coming to life storybook.  When I heard the theme was “fairytale”, I immediately thought of the Brothers Grimm and their infamous tales. This figurine includes elements from “The Fisherman and his Wife”, “Little Red Riding Hood”, “Snow White”, “Cinderella”, “Hansel and Gretel”, “Tom Thumb”, and “Rapunzel”. This book was made to look like it was hand written and worn out to give it an antique sense to it.

Stories can be read at: http://www.grimmstories.com/

What I will be doing later on today!! I’m so excited!!

My Clay Fantasy March 2014 Competition Entry.
The theme this month is Shabby Chic. Now, I have never sculpted anything in my entire polymer clay existence…until now. I had this idea of a carousel horse and went with it. It took FOREVER to do. When I had first finished it, it was much to “pretty”. So, I “shabby’d” it up with water down acrylics. I’m so proud of myself and the way it came out.
What do you all think?

Cracked eggs anyone?

I was wandering through YouTube tutorials the other day, and I found one that was super cute. So naturally, I had to follow it! It is by Heather Wells and can be found here. Her tutorial is on the white cracked eggs, but I decided to do both white and brown eggs. They are not charms, but can easily be made into charms if need be. If you have time, give it a try! Why not, right?

TX to MN

Hey everyone! I know I haven’t clayed in a while. I’ve actually been up to stuff. I just moved with my husband from Texas to Minnesota. I’ve been here almost 2 weeks now and it had been fun. I started claying today and have something brewing…you’ll just have to wait and see!!

Here is my owl made from following Aniko Kolesnikova’s tutorial (found here). He came out a bit smaller than I had intended, but I think it makes him look like a baby owl. I love it so much!!!
